Welcome to Virginia’s Most Celebrated Wedding Venue!
Witness history and luxury collide at Historic Mankin Mansion. This Georgian Revival property dates back to the early 1900’s, when it was built by the entrepreneurial brick maker and founder Edward Thurston Mankin. He not only designed the entire Italianate estate, but was a pioneer for his contribution to architecture in some of Virginia’s finest homes and beyond.
Mr. Mankin is well known for producing handmade specialty bricks onsite, at the Mansion, that feature his name engraved on one side of the bricks. These famous bricks have made their way into the private estate of John D. Rockefeller, prominent buildings at Yale University, the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown NY, the revitalization of Colonial Williamsburg and the re-creation of Jamestown Church.
Co-owners and wedding professionals, Martin and Paula Ramirez, saved the dilapidated Mansion in 2004 with the sole intention of hosting magical weddings. Open since 2006, with a combined 50 years of wedding experience, Martin and Paula hosted their first weddings seamlessly and have been doing so ever since!
