Welcome to Virginia’s Most Celebrated Wedding Venue
Witness history and luxury collide at Historic Mankin Mansion. This Georgian Revival property dates back to the early 1900’s, when it was built by the entrepreneurial brick maker and founder Edward Thurston Mankin. He not only designed the entire Italianate estate, but was a pioneer for his contribution to architecture in some of Virginia’s finest homes and beyond.
So well known for producing handmade specialty bricks, which were generated on-site, Mankin’s bricks were famously utilized in the private estate of John D. Rockefeller, in prominent buildings at Yale University, in the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown NY, as well as in the revitalization of Colonial Williamsburg and the re-creation of Jamestown Church.
Co-owners Martin and Paula Ramirez saved the dilapidated estate, renovated it in 2004 with the sole intention of hosting magical weddings at this old world Estate and have been open since 2006
With over 50 years of combined wedding experience Martin & Paula wanted to provide a private venue for couples and incorporate all of their experience from their planning and DJ entertainment background. With more than 15 years of only hosting weddings and events at Historic Mankin Mansion, you you can feel confident that not a single detail will be overlooked for your special day!
We welcome you to tour Historic Mankin Mansion and see why we have been voted best ceremony, reception and event venue year after year.
